The Castle Plastics Felt Pad (often referred to as a Felt Rim Pad) is a traditional cushioning pad used by farriers to provide shock absorption and comfort while maintaining an open sole. Unlike the synthetic polymer Impak series mentioned previously, these are made from a dense felt material that offers a different type of compression and "breathability" for the hoof.
