The Mustad E-Head Creaser is a specialized forging tool designed to create perfectly angled grooves in horseshoes for square-headed nails such as E, EX, MX, and M types.
Key Features & Design: Purpose-Built Head: Specifically engineered for square-headed nails, providing a deeper or more precisely angled crease than the City-Head model. Air-Hardened Steel: The head is forged from air-hardened tool steel for durability. Important: It should not be cooled in water, as this can damage the tempering. Forging Temperature: Recommended for use at low forging temperatures, typically between 1,112°F and 1,292°F (600°C – 700°C). Replaceable Handle: Features a high-quality hardwood handle (often American Hickory) firmly mounted with a ring wedge, making it easy to replace or customize.
